Do you wear Mizuno's?/Need clinical shoes

So white shoes are needed for clinical. Since we all have very different feet and personal preferences on shoes, I thought I'd see if anyone is in the same boat I am.

I've been working 12 hour shifts in the clinical area for many years and have gone through dansko's, crocs, nike, and nursemates. None were satisfactory. In fact, I swear the crocs lead to a sprained foot. I finally took my poor feet to Hanson's Running Shop in Royal Oak, had them properly measured and my walk evaluated. I'm now a loyal Mizuno wearer. Fantastic running shoes for my feet, which are narrow, medium arched, and force me to overpronate when I walk.

Now that my feet are happy, I don't want to succumb to uncomfortable shoes just because I need an all white shoe.

Anyone else have feet like me? :D

And have you found a comfortable runner and/or athletic for clinicals?

I need happy feet, people.

Thanks,

Chandra

Oh, I love Mizuno! But for running, not nursing. I'm i little overweight, though, and the Mizuno insoles break down quickly under my weight.

It sounds as though you have an inflexible foot. Go to a GOOD running store with actual runners working there and explain that you need a running shoe with a CURVED LAST, which is the Mizuno you described, in white. And walk around the store while wearing them for a bit.

That's right on the money when describing my left foot, the problem child. I've sprained it multiple times over the years and broke a toe (i'm not a klutz I swear..hehe). I can't flex it forward as well as I can the right, and it stiffens up after sitting for awhile. I need a new foot!

Thank you for your suggestion, sounds like what I need to do! :D

You're welcome, Chandra.

You might want to post this in the "Shoes" forum under "Nursing Gear." It gets a lot more traffic.
