Hey guys, do schools tend to average scores or just take the most recent or highest score? I took the GRE twice and am hoping that they take the most recent!! What have all of you found when applying? Thanks for your input!

To my Knowledge they take your most recent but are able to view all of them. ETS reports every score on file.
I bet your intended schools can let you know for sure, but I really dont think they average them.

I think they take the most recent score, but it does matter how many times you take the test.
Let's say you have two applicants, one takes the test once scores 1100; the other takes it twice scores 970 and then 1100. With all other things being equal, who gets in????
I would guess the applicant who took the GRE once. If you take that test multiple times your score statistically should rise as you get better at taking the test. Therefore, if the first applicant took the test again we would see a rise in score above 1100.
