So I am considering applying to Chamberlain university is Sacramento next year, but the negative reviews on this school has me reconsidering if I'm taking the right path. My question is, if you have gone to Chamberlain and graduated from any nursing program there, was it easy and possible to get a job? I have heard several hospitals do not hire nurses graduating from this school because of the bad reputation it has. So please share with me your positive/negative experiences with this school!! TIA!!

Hi, Abril!
I completed by BSN with Chamberlain U in 2017. I read about some of the negative press but honestly, I didn't have a negative experience. I'm more of an online learner and never liked the classroom platform. The courses are 8 weeks long and requires discipline, time management and organization to complete assignments. Lots of research and writing. Instructors were responsive. I would say the BSN program was challenging since it's a condensed curriculum and requires putting in the effort to succeed. I have been an RN since 2004 and never had a problem working as a traveling ICU nurse with my BSN. I have worked in CA, TX, CT, NY, MA as a traveling ICU nurse and my resume which details my education was never an issue. Chamberlain is expensive in comparison to state schools for sure. I chose them because of my lifestyle as a traveling nurse and wanted a nursing program that was mobile. I am currently in their FNP program and have taken the 1st course and loved it. My professor was accessible via phone text, email or phone call when I had a question and she answered within 30 minutes. Enrolling into the program was not complicated at all for me. My admission advisor did all the leg work getting my graduate application completed in a timely matter and since I am an BSN alumni, getting accepted into their FNP program was not hard. And I had a GPA of 3.32. People have issues no matter what programs they're in. You have to find one that works for you with your work/lifestyle and learning preference. I've met a few Chamberlain grads and they enjoyed it. I would think it's a small rate of dissatisfied students vs a large percentage considering the university is located across the country and accessible to all 50 states. I wish you luck!
