I seen people post on here that LVN's make at least $15 an hour.
Yet I can't find a single lvn job that pays good.
Here is an example of a LVN job paying minimum wage AND requiring experience!

job #1:

Full Time, Days and Nights 12 hour shifts.

Ok 35k a year sounds great right? WRONG!
$8 an hour x 12 hours a day X 7 days a week X 52 weeks a year = $34,994 a year.
If I search other cities I can't even find a job opening or lvn/lpn. It is extremely hard to land a job as a LPN/LVN. You'll make far more as a construction worker, plumber, lawn mower, etc...
Well, $8 dollars is not good at all but I know some places will pay that little for an LVN/LPN, Hospitals in this area pay about $14-15, and nursing homes pay $16-20. That's why I do agency cause pay ranges $25-30. I know one agency that pays up to $39. Don't ask me how? but that is the only agency that pays that most are in the 25-30 range.
what is agency work? Is that like hospice?
i work for the state(NY)....it is the highest paying job around here...16/hr..with raises..and great benefits..
to tell you the truth tho....i dont feel like a nurse most days....so i have been weighing pros and cons....lower pay and do nurse duties in a hospital..or stay where i am where i am sore from lugging, tugging and lifting.......i am not sure if it is my age starting to show(47) but after my3 days of work(i only workpart time) i am sore and just plainol tired....i hate feeling like this.....i do the work no problems...but after i get home and wind down....HOLY!
i am also thinking of taking2 pre req classes i need for theRN program......
happy new year to all

Hi, the salary rate depends on which state and area you work. In NJ depending on location the salary range for a new lpn from $18.50-$20.00 an hour with benefits. If you work per-diem you get paid more. State and County facilities pay a little less because of the many benefits they provide. I work for the county and make $21/hr with good benefits. As stated, it all depends the state and location within the state you are in.
