I like the 12 hr shifts at the call center. I have to drive 32 miles one way to get there so I rather work longer hrs and have more days off per week. I normally work 40 hrs per week so I do 2- 8hr shifts and 2- 12 hrs shifts. If I can ever afford it, I will go to 3 12hr shifts. That is 4 days off per week!! The shifts are different each day with it being busier in the evening than it is later/early morning. I work 3pm-3am for my 12 hrs shift. It is kind of different but it is what I do for now. You can get up and stretch between calls so that part is not too bad. It is sure alot easier than it is for a 12 hr floor nurse position!! :uhoh21:
I myself don't like 12 hour shifts. I think it's hard to maintain focus for so long.
And of course, it's a sit down job and my butt gets sore!!! :rotfl:
I work from home, so it makes it easier. I have a very good chair, went to a used office supply store and bought a chair that was adjustable. I also have one of those little heat and massage units you can fit onto your chair. It helps!
Hello,
I am an RN in Phione Triage working 10 hour shifts. I get 4 days off in a row which is nice. I work afternoons. I really like all the days off and it basically is a sit down job.

I have been offered a new position with a call center. I would have 3 12/hrdays. Anyone working 12/hr with triage? If so, pros and cons?
Thanks :)
