Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know of any NCLEX-RN study guides that only deal with med-surg and pharmacology:mad:? I am currently an RN student and my professor creates tests based on the NCLEX test style. I've looked everywhere and I havent found a book that really goes in depth on med-surg. All your help will be greatly appreciated!

You could try "Medical Surgical Nursing Made Incredibly Easy". It's got practice questions at the end of each chapter and is pretty good about breaking things down. I've also got a Saunders NCLEX review book that's organized by body system and has 50-60 questions on each chapter plus a CD with a study bank of questions.

I agree with these.

Saunders is awesome.

I got a different version fo the "made easy"... i got "NCLEX-RN made easy- Questions and Answers"- it's set up really great.. its just a ton of questions for each system/topic, organized well, and the rationales really drill the point home.

Specializes in Med-Tele, Internal Med PCU.

Saunders is great and very popular.

I'm more of a visual learner and use Zerwekh's Illustrated Study Guide for NCLEX also.

Med-Surg Success: A Course Review Applying Critical Thinking to Test Taking by Kathryn Cadenhead Colgrove & Judy Callicoatt

This is the BEST book I have come across! It is not a "review" book per say, but is more of a book of NCLEX-type questions. The book has nothing in it but questions and rationales. The coolest thing is that not only is the book broken down by body system (e.g. cardiovascular, respiratory, etc)...it is also broken down by disorder/disease WITHIN each system (e.g. aortic aneurysm, fractures, hypertension, etc). This way you can answer questions that only pertain to the material you are currently studying.

I have found that it has helped a lot on my lecture tests!

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Med Surg Success is the absolute best study guide.
