Do all FL nursing jobs require pre-employment testing?

Published

I have applied for a private duty nursing job. In order to get the job, I will have to take 5 different nursing tests. If I don't pass the tests, I will have to wait 30 days before I can retake the tests. Do all the nursing jobs in Florida require lots of nursing tests before you can actually be hired? Thanks:confused:

No, not all nursing jobs in Florida require preemployment testing. Most hospital jobs, for example do not... though they may require new hire testing (after you are hired) to see what areas they need to provide you extra training in during your orientation period.

Thanks so much. I told them I knew nothing about ventilators. I told them I have no ventilator experience. I am suppose to pass a test on ventilators before I can actually start working. I asked if they had a "study guide" and they said no. I ran down to the bookstore to get books to study and I am hoping for the best. Anyway, I guess if I flunk the test, I can keep studying and look for other jobs for those 30 days. I came here from Washington state and none of my former jobs required any kind of testing.
