Do they count your 36 hours as 40 hours?

I know that in some jobs if you work 36 hours they count it as 40.

Was wondering if it works that way in nursing?

If you work 3, 12 hour shifts, do they count as 36?

Also, while on the subject, do you usually work more than 36?

I work 3 12.5 hr (including lunch) shifts and get paid for 40. We get paid for our lunch and get OT if we don't take a lunch.
