Hey everyone. I am planning on applying for the DNP program for next Spring, I am completing my MSN right now in leadership. I am really passionate about patient access to healthcare. I live in rural Maine and it is hard to get care in areas. I was wondering if a DNP project focused around creating a program to reach more patients such as a travel healthcare group through small communities in rural Maine. I have been doing a lot of research on what is required for projects, what is considered a good vs bad idea. But I just can't figure out if this is something to look to. There is a lot of opportunity to look at care needs, population health, economics, political involvement, and community acceptance. The essays to some of the programs would like me to state a project of interest and this is one I have thought about a lot. So, I guess my question is - is this something that can be considered a DNP project? Looking for advice and ideas - anything helps. Thanks!

Do a pubmed search - is there a basis in the literature that this is a problem? Probably yes. Is there evidence to implement an intervention for this problem? Usually for admission essays, they want you to have an interest in something and be able to articulate it in writing. You don't have to have the exact PICOT question identified.
