I am applying to a BSN-DNP program that will allow me to get a MSN along the way. I will be doing FNP. They require 3 letters of reference from individuals who can speak to my ability to handle graduate and doctoral level nursing coursework. My concern is that I only know nurses with a BSN. I feel they will not carry much weight in this subject matter. Any thoughts on how to get these letters of recommendation? I do not know any nor do I work with any nurses with higher than a BSN. Suggestions would be much appreciated!

What about any of the physicians you work with? I had 2 colleagues and the surgeon I work for write mine. Now, I am already a NP, but I still think this would be a great option for you.

Do you think it'll hurt me if NONE of my letters of recommendation come from a nurse with an advanced degree?

I'm not sure how to get one from a physician either. I suppose I could utilize the intern that happens to be on service when I need the letter. I work nights so I do not know any of the attending physicians... I deal almost exclusively with interns and they rotate frequently.
