I've been thinking about getting my RN for a while now, and Achieve Test Prep was looking like a good option, until the online meeting. The guy was emphasizing, all the books and length of classes, almost made it seem like a crime to go to school. What irritated me the most was that he was trying to fob Excelsior off on me. I do not wish yo go to Excelsior. He claimed that the reason so many people fAiled the CPNE, was because they did not prepare for it. I also told him the CPNE is over 2000 dollars and I can't afford to retake it if I didn't pass it. He seemed to get an attitude and suggested their BSN program.. I said what was wrong with going to my local community college and testing out of the pre reqs again the spiel about, length of classes and all those books.. by the time he quoted me a price for the courses its coming out to almost 3000.00! Then he seemed to get into a snit when I asked could I just take one course at a time. After all this, Im thinking to myself for all that I may as well get a Pell grant it will be cheaper and I dont have to pay it back.
I am disgusted because Achieve Test Prep's advisor is making it seem like a dumb idea to actually go to A brick and Mortar School, and they dont seem interested in letting you formulate your own educational plan.

You do understand that Achieve Test Prep is a company that prepares you to challenge the exams at Excelsior via study guides or in class tutoring? Their prep is in addition to the tuition and fees at Excelsior. The BSN program is to prepare you for the challenge exams and courses most likely at the distance LPN to BSN at Indiana State. Unlike other programs their name does not imply they are a degree granting program but a test program. Not unlike Kaplan & Hurst offer prep materials and classes to get ready for the nclex.
