I am kind of becoming discouraged because I am going into my second year of college and completing pre-req's for the nursing program but every where I read and everyone I talk to makes my chances of getting into a program so weak! I currantly attend wayne state... any suggestion on what I should do... I am becoming kind of down becuase I feel like I'm doing all of this for nothing!

Justwanna~ Keep your head up! I have learned something these last few years of doing my pre req's.. you can't listen to what everyone else says!! If you want to do this you will succeed!
Just keep on doing what your doing and you will make it!!

I'm sorry you're feeling so down but you're taking your classes at wayne so that means you're in a higher priority group and will have a better chance at being admitted to their program than someone who doesn't take them there.
Are you having a hard time with prereqs? Some professors are better than others and a lot of the ones slated for fall are easier than the profs that normally teach the courses (for Anatomy, Micro, and gen chem). Is there anything I can do to help you? I have old notes for a few courses. Have you looked into campus tutoring or going to those SI extra sessions (those really helped me).
You'll never know if you will be accepted or not if you don't try. My husband gave me some great advice that all you can do is your very best. If you've done that, you've done all you can do.
Let me know if you need any help with your classes or just need anyone to talk to for support. You can always private message me or I'd be happy to meet with you for coffee at the campus starbucks to be a listening friend and give you extra help if you need it. :loveya:
What classes are you signed up for this fall?

WayneState Katie always has such great advice, and that Starbucks offer is the kindest one I've seen on this board.
I can only add this piece of self-talk I relied on nearly every day, sometimes repeating it over and over during particularly tough times: Don't let anyone or anything get in the way of your goal.
