Disclosing expunged record to Nursing School

Published

Im in CA. I had a petty theft conviction back in high school in 2003 which has been expunged since 2008. What sucks is, I returned some clothes WHICH I BOUGHT FULL PRICE, to the store I was working at and overrode the promotional return price and gave myself the full price back. It was so stupid, but I was 18 and soo smart right? Anywho, I meet with the Board of Nursing Director at my school and I am so nervous. The cop who gave me the citation charged me with embezzlement (really?) which the judge threw out before I could even plea. Can a nursing school deny me based off expunged 9yo conviction you think?

I had a charge (not conviction) that was dismissed and expunged. I did not have to report anything expunged to my nursing school and it did not show up on a background check. I do, however, have ot report it to my board of nursing when I sit for the NCLEX and they "may or may not" allow me to become licensed, I have to show tons of documentation, and hire a lawyer to sit through an interrogation with me.
