Hey you guys, my name is johnathan and i will be starting nursing school at chamberlain college of nursing in oct. I am very excited and even more nervous about starting school. I have a learing disability with reading and grammar. i believe i read fine but may need help with some big words like any other person. In high school I would get extra time on test and other accommodations if needed. I'm so scared that my disability is going to hold me back from being a nursing. I got a 82 on my hesi exam but I wonder If I can make it at chamberlain? I also wonder if I should get accommodations at chamberlain or just trying doing it without any. I really don't want pple like teachers to single me out and think I'm dumb when i make a mistake. What would u guys do .sorry writing from my phone

I would be as honest as possible with your nursing school, I would hope your instructors would be as discrete as possible. Remember, the bottom line in nursing is safe, quality care.

There is no shame in requesting needed accomodations in school, if i needed them, I would certainly not hesitate to put my request in writing. I know that at my college, you could have a seperate quiet room (without all the many distractions) to take an exam if needed for example.

I am taking the TEAS test tomorrow for LPN at Concorde on thursday. I am on disability as well.
My math is HORRIBLE!! and there is math on this test. "just do it" like nike says. Take advantage
of all your benefits. Pride keeps People like us from doing that. I am.... it can make a difference in
you failing or passing your degree. Good Luck!!!
