Hello Everyone, The applications for June 2020 at Columbia University has now opened. I haven't seen any new threads for this year so I wanted to start one. I am in the process of applying and half way done! References already sent their recommendations!! and an upside to this year is that Columbia University is no longer requiring the GRE. SO I am pretty happy about that!!
Good Luck!
I was accepted into the MDE program, but I am regretting not applying to the MDE/DNP programs. Does anybody know if I would be able to apply to one of the DNP specialty areas while completing the MDE with the intention of staring the DNP right after completing the first portion? Or would I have had to apply to the DNP programs right off the bat?

Hey same over here. I kinda regret not applying to the DNP program but I’ve seen in other comments that you can apply while you are completing your MDE. I believe they will also clarify this on visit day.

Same my job is fairly calm on the weekends. I think I’ll lay off for the summer. I’m sure those who do attend will probably start study groups and we’ll probably be busy studying on weekends and stuff haha

Thanks for the info. Hoping I'll be able to go to the visiting day since I'm traveling from Chicago
yes you can apply to the dnp program while you’re an mde student. in fact, i heard that they actually encourage you to do so. as long as you’re in good standing academically. and you also still get the seamless scholarship, which is pretty much automatic as long as you transition right after the mde.

I applied and got into the FNP track for the DNP portion! When I dwindled down what I could truly see myself doing in my future career, FNP was/is what I need! We will see where it takes me; I am up for the hard work and the adventure! I was fully expecting to not get into the MDE or DNP programs whatsoever because of coming straight from undergrad and I know so many people applying are older than me and more experienced “in the real world”, but I am so so happy to have this opportunity! This was something I have prayed for and about for over a year when I found out about the program. It is something I hoped was meant to be for me. Now, I just have to figure out and pray all the logistical stuff will work out! I am planning on attending the visit day and then make my ultimate decision from there. Best of luck to everyone that is on or soon to be on the application cycle journey.

I think I'll probably end up nannying or something. It's good money & will hopefully have time to study while nannyig. It's just hard to imagine not having some sort of income... But as others said, I am not going to work during the first semester just to see how rigorous it truly is.
Congrats again to everyone! Does anyone here have any insight about when the "financial aid award offer" that is "forthcoming"... may actually come? And, if you are not awarded any scholarships, will it list details such as how much student loan $ you can get based on your FAFSA, etc?
Just wasn't sure how much financial counseling is available to help you make a decision. I have never attended a pricey private school before, and it's all very intimidating! I will be attending Visiting Day, but need to decide if I'm turning down a spot in another program sooner (yes, it is a lucky 'problem' to have).
I'm flying in from LA on the red eye, and my flight lands at JFK at 6 AM. Is anybody arriving on the 21st and wants to hang out before the event? I'll also be staying through Sunday morning because there's a fun club event I really want to attend, so if people want to hang out during the weekend that might be fun too.

I'm also flying in from LA but I'll be going through Newark! I'm probably getting into NYC by 7AM so I'm totally down to hang out!
