In your situation I would suspect online classes are your best bet. It is possible to take all your prereqs online, even your sciences. There are a few schools out there that offer them this way. You even do your labs @ home, they send you kits, something like that. Best bet is to start with Anatomy & Physiology (A&P) 1 & 2 and Microbiology because EVERY nursing program I know of requires these three. All other schools differ in the remaining prereq courses required.
Oh, another thing ... try to take all your prereqs at one school, transcript requests can get cumbersome and expensive if you attend multiple schools. NEVER take A&P 1 & 2 at different schools! Nursing schools expect you to take them at the same school.
Thanks alot!! That just confirmed my inclinations. Would you happen to know what online schools are the best for something like that? Thanks again!!

There is one school I know of that people on here talk about taking prereqs completely online, including the sciences with labs. It's Ocean County College in NJ. Obviously if you're a NJ resident the tuition is cheaper but if you're out of state it's not that much more exorbitant (out of state tuition & fees I see is $234/credit hour). In addition to the link below, you might want to also search threads for "Ocean County College" in the text box at the top of the page, I know I have seen posts on here about that school and the classes.
Hope this helps!

EDITING TO ADD:
I just now discovered through another thread this other link that may be of help. It's a consortium of colleges in Colorado offering online classes as well ... and it was highly recommended:

Has anyone taken most of their prereq.'s online then transferred to a community college's nursing program? Just wondering where to start. I am currently taking the CNA course at the community college because it's one of the requirements to get into the ADN program. The community college where I live, in Greensboro,NC has high enrollment, double the amount of other community colleges in the state and almost everyone is pursuing nursing. So the general eds. and prereq's I hear, are not available to the point that it's taking some students longer to get their 2 year degree due to classes not being available. My other dilemma is, I'll be moving in about a year and don't know where I would be moving to ( we're a military family). So, I didn't want to start taking prereq's of this community college's nursing program to only find out when I move, either the credits may not be transferrable or whatever may be the case. However, I do want to get started somewhere. Online would be good for me considering that I have 3 small children and haven't got a clue to where I'll be relocating to. I guess knowing what is "universally" required by most nursing programs would help. Also, I hear of EduKan???? Anyone ever had a problem with those credits transferring??
Thanks!! Any feedback is appreciated!
