why is dilantin IV given slowly?

Well, it's happened. We only use IV Cerebyx in our hospital, and only oral dilantin. That way if we get Cerebyx ordered PO, then we or the pharmacist has to call to clarify what drug we're supposed to be giving.

My daughter had SJS after Cipro....was horrid... Allergist told her to never, never take any AbX in that class again. Luckily she didn`t need any skin grafts
And I,also, haven`t used Dilantin in ages...just Cerebyx
