I have been in the profession for over 25 years. Last 11 in leadership, including professional staff development and CNO. The organization I was last with had a huge lay off where middle management was let go. I've decided to seek an opportunity with the state as a surveyor. My children are adults and have their own careers. I believe this is the perfect opportunity to try something new in healthcare. I have interviewed in a few counties for a surveyor position, however, I have not been selected. Someone please advise what exactly are they looking for in the interview process for the state. I am humble, convey my strengths/weaknesses, and knowledgeable of TJC, CMS, and Title 22. My goal is to obtain an opportunity and retire in the next 10-12 years. No longer interested in climbing corporate ladders. Please assist.

You're asking about a very specialized area; you may have difficulty getting an
answer here. Under the "specialties" tab at the top of the screen, there are
forums you may have more luck in. Try the "Government/Military" nursing
forum, since you are asking about a government job. Try the "Quality
Improvement" nursing forum also.
Thank you. I will do that.
