Great Info from NYSNA:

"Every Patient Deserves an RN" - Grid Illustrating the Differences in Nursing Care When Delivered by an RN Versus an Unlicensed Person

Great information ... but very biased, don't you think? Not all techs ignore obvious bruising, ignore patient complaints, are uncommunicative, are rude and think prune juice cures all. And not all RN's pick up on subtle signs, chart perfectly accurate long notes, arrange for additional help, communicate effectively with all team members and/or care for the patient better than anyone else on the planet.

It is absolutely true that a RN gives better total patient care in the situations provided. But no RN is perfect and certainly not all techs are so clueless. Let's be fair. Of course, the obvious difference here is that a RN has more training and skills than a tech, and each has their own job description, the two of which are completely different and meet the patient needs in different ways.

Just my two cents.
