Difference between NCLEX-RN & NCLEX-PN

Published

Hi everyone,

I wanted to asked if anyone has taken both PN & RN. See my dilemma is I originally wanted to take the NCLEX-RN but I was afraid I might fail it again and heard that NCLEX-PN was easier. So now, the books that I'm studying are for RN but I'll be taking the PN. Is there really a big difference between the two? If you know please HELP! Any input would really be appreciated. Thank you guys!

It was some time ago, but I have taken both. LPN is more task oriented, RN has more theory.

I have taken both exams. LPN-NCLEX was way harder for me. I had audio, diagrams, charts and math. For the RN I had straight multiple choice and a ton of SATA. RN was easier for me IMO.

I would advise you to take the RN. Don't take the LPN nclex just because you think it is easier. Both exams require critical thinking and good test taking abilities.

I am a LPN. I suggest you to read more PN stuff. I heard the LVN exam is more harder than RN, because it has more skill and it is more tasks oriented. I study from kaplan (Q-bank) and saunders and passed at first try. So study PN stuff it will help you more. Good luck

Seems like that's what most people have been saying. I guest I might have to do that.

Thanks preet826. I've read most of your posts, congratulations :yelclap:
