Difference between LPN school and Rn school?

Published

For all of you that have went from an LPN to an Rn , what are the differences in school? I am currently an LPN going back for my RN. I have been inactive for a long time. I have been a SAHM. What are the differences in your experience from LPN to Rn?

I was fortunate to have a rigorous LPN program so the RN program isn't any big deal. Not much difference, imo, just a bit longer and now in the last semester it is becoming more focused on management stuff. Much of the adjustment to nursing school for me was the shock of them "owning me" and the politics so since that isn't a surprise this time around its much easier. Good luck, you will do just fine!

I cannot answer from exp. quite yet as I wont be entering into my bridge until 09, but I have reviewed the courses offered throughout the program and its more complex things such as broader meds for IVs/piggyback as well as more focus on nursing process and care plans, but I didnt see much else... I think just the LPN/VN part is honestly THEE hardest and then the RN is the icing on the rest of your career ... good luck!
