Did I get the job?

Okay, so I had an interview at St. John's Creve Coeur last week. It was for patient care associate and to get into the Oct. training class. The interview went very well. I am a Registered Medical Assistant and have a little bit of medical experience. Anyway, they had me come back this past Tuesday to shadow a pca on the ortho floor. Later that day the HR person called me to ask if I liked the experience and if it is still something I want to do. I said "yes, very much so." He told me he would call me in the next couple days. He said there is only a couple spots left in the class and he would let me know yes or no if I got in. He also said he thought I had a good chance but didn't want to "dangle a carrot in front of me". Well that was Tuesday and now it's Saturday and I haven't heard from him. It's driving me crazy not knowing. I want this job so bad! So what do you think? If he doesn't call me Monday should I call him, or would that look bad?

I would not take it as a bad sign that he has not called yet. Sometimes it takes a while for them to make their decisions, longer than they expect. I would definitely call them on Monday to see what the status of their decision is. It shows that you want the job and are a self-motivated person!

yeah i would call them on monday. My friend just entered the program a few weeks ago or something like that. lol But they did the same thing to her. She shadowed the person around and then was asked if it was something she was still interested in. I think if you are able to shadow someone that They are probably already interested. I don't know if they have everyone do the shadowing but what you are saying sounds exactly like my friend and she just started a few weeks ago!
