For one of the nursing courses, we are learning about toxins in hospitals. I was a bit surprised by this. I know that OSHA has safety regulations for all occupations but the instructor was making it seem like hospitals were the worst thing ever. How is that possible? I realize that there are plenty of cleaning products but we are dealing with sick patients. Is it really that bad?
I think there are other work environments that are worse than hospitals, such as a coal mine or a sewage treatment plant. But yeah, I've been warned by some nurses that certain cleaning products are carcinogenic or harmful in other ways. That is true of household products too.
