Acute Dialysis job nitemare

I interviewed for an acute dialysis job as an RN position. I told them my last dialysis experience was about 7 years ago working only in the chronic setting. I told them I would need some trading, and some hands on review and to go over their specific policies. The first day on the job, they had me set up the machine from memory, and sit with the patient. And rinse him back the rest of the day I really flew by the seat of my pants arrives at 6 am went home about 1 Am. The manager wanted me to return the following morning at 6 am. I said I'd be there at 8. It seems like everyone I've talked to does thinks exactly different. I found out yesterday that I don't get paid overtime if I work over 12 hours in a day but that is our state law. The company saws they don't have to follow CO lawbecau head quarters are elsewhere.i was also told as a full time acute nurse they can call me anytime they want me to work and I have to. None of this seems worth it. I'm willing to work 3 12 hr shifts. Have our machines in compliance and have clear policies and procedures to follow.

. None of this seems worth it.

That is the correct answer.

Look for another job. This one will only get worse. I left a job with one of the Big 2 in dialysis after 2 weeks because I was not being supported and felt the managers didn't have my back. I can't work for them anymore, so it makes finding a job a bit more challenging. But, it is their loss, not mine.

Wow, I wrote that super late when I was super tired and frustrated. Really I can spell and write properly. Today it got even better. I was told I couldn't call in sick. My child is sick and I tried to call and say I wouldn't be in tomorrow and I was told I had to be there. Huh?! I'm super confused about working over 12 hours and no overtime and less than 6 hour turn arounds. I don't think in all of my nursing life I've ever had to give up my real life for my job!

I am a nurse manager at one of the big two. I had an employee call me to say she couldn't come in because she had an emergency with her son. The FA told me to tell her she had to come in. I thought that was horrible.
