Diagnosis costs

Hi,

I am attempting to start a home health and I am trying to analyze the finances. Does anyone know where I can get the estimated dollar figures that Medicare will reimburse an HHA agency depending on the diagnosis? I do not know where to begin, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am not the best one to give you details...except to say that even within diagnosis it can greatly differ. Each the MO questions answered on an OASIS assessment give you a score -- wounds, incontinence, ADLs, resp status, therapy or not. The answers are added into the case mix which helps to determine the reimbursement received for a 60 day certification period ( no matter how many visits are made) My agency had inservices on the OASIS to help us better understand, ask and answer the questions for most accuracy as well as hopefully increasing the reimbursement rate ( it worked!)

We do not code our assessments - we have a WONDERFUL lady that does the coding for all of us.
