Work life balance is a big deal these days. I started at the hospital and left due to 3-4 12 hr shifts a week plus the nurse bullying/politics. I moved into school nursing for autonomy. While it's not a sexy job, I only work 187 days a year. So I have off 2 months in the Summer, most holidays, Spring break 1 wk, thanksgiving break 1 wk, and Christmas break 2 wks. Most schools now credit you for your previous nursing experience. If I want extra cash, I can still pick up shifts or work in the Summer if I want to. It's a lot of time off.

It sounds like the OP has no clinical experience
. Totally different kettle of fish.

I've been doing a desk case management RN job since I started my career 4 years ago. Working 5 days a week is burning me out and I want time to do other things. Am I crazy for considering doing a couple hospital shifts a week instead? Pay would be more and that's a benefit
