Desert Regional Medical Center v. Eisenhower

Has anyone traveled to either of these hospitals? Any feedback? I'm an ICU nurse and currently work trauma...I would appreciate any feedback you have to offer!

Specializes in ICU/CCU/TICU/NICU/PICU.

I worked at DRMC as a travel nurse in the ICU. Not the best assignment I have had. They tend to "dump" on the travelers and the level of care is poor. They also make you fill out employee paper work and your paychecks are thru DRMC not your travel company. My travel buddy and I had nothing but problems getting them to reimburse us for our insurance and overtime. They make you clock out for lunch breaks and then try to get you to work through them because they don't have the staff to relieve you.

I have heard good things about Eisenhower but that was from secondary sources.

IF you don't mind a crappy assignment, Palm Springs is a great place for to visit. There is tons to do on your days off and it is within a few hours driving time to San Diego, LA, Joshua Tree and even Vegas.

I agree with the above comment. I am currently a traveler in the float pool and they seem to dump on me as well. I have heard Eisenhower is nice, but they don't have very many openings there for travel often. I personally did not care for the area here... But I do recommend living in Palm Desert and not Palm Springs. I live at Canterra apartments and they are very nice.
