Hello all I will be starting at DePaul on may 1st on 4N on a tele floor. I was wondering if any body had any thoughts about this floor or any info on the benifits.

Welcome Aboard!
I currently work there as a tech, and will start as a GN in June. 4N can be very fast paced at times, so be prepared to be busy. For the most part it is a really good flool and most of the peolpe are nice and pretty helpful, but as with any job, there are a few bad apples and the stress can be nervewracking. The pay and benefits are competive with the other hospitals, there's always opportunity for overtime, and you can make your own schedule. Are you working days or nights? I hope this helped, let me know if you have any more questions. Good Luck! :)

Hi!
I work at DePaul also. Curious to talk to you. Are you working this weekend???
I will start general orientation on may 1st and I will be working night shift. Do you know how the health benifits are as far as cost wise? and are they good benifits? and how do they go about overtime like how do you sign up for it is it posted? what uniforms can you wear color wise? and is it true that it is non-smoking everywhere? Thanks for any replies.
Debg- Hi there ! I don't work this weekend, but I will be there on Tues. for blitz day. I may work next weekend depending on my school scheudule.
Shady-I don't currently have thier health benefits, but from what I hear they are pretty reasonable. You can wear any color scrubs for the maroon-reddish color(they wear those in L & D). There's a bonus shift list put out with every schedule. You can sign uo for OT on that...a lot of times staffing will call you and ask if you can do anything extra. It's true that you're not supposed to smoke anywhere on the property, but people do it all the time anyway. There's a little spot that all the smokers sneak off too.

Hello all!
I am new to this board.
I will finish my practicum at the end of July and have been considering Depaul. I want to work in the SICU and was wondering how they treat each other up there?
