Hello there, I just wanted to reach out and see if any of you were applying for January 2016 admissions. I'm a little nervous as my CNA course wont be complete till they're conducting interviews, but I do have experience as a Medical first responder/Lifeguard (3years) and being a behavioral health worker and QMAP in a long term residential facility. What are your guys' work experience??
Looking forward to hearing from you all!

I don't think they care. It helps, but it's not like it's a stumblingblock to getting in.
I also have an interview in October for the January 2016 start... I am really nervous... I would love to talk to anyone who is interviewing and I would like to meet my possible cohort students... I am applying for the BSN nursing program... already have a BA so I did the required classes online at Colorado Community College online... right now finishing up microbiology... I haven't been to school (besides) community college for quite a while and I am really nervous... I live in Arvada and plan on accessing light rail as much as possible
Hey,
I have my interview in November and I'm finishing up micro right now too! I'm at UNC up in Greeley and looking to move to Denver come December. I wouldnt be too nervous for the interview. From what I hear you just talk about yourself and then take a tour of the school, meet with financial aid, etc.
HESI test seems pretty straightforward. Just use the review book they lend you at the interview.
I look forward to meeting and studying with you!

Hey Chance, I think you'll be fine as long as you'll have your license by the start of the program.
I have an interview on Monday for the Jan 2016 start and I'm nervous! I have heard some good and some bad things about DSN. I'd love to chat with whomever is interviewing! I have a B.S. in health and I am currently working as a CNA in a hospital here in Denver.
I had my interview last Thursday the 8th. I had mixed feelings about DSN. The facts are there aren't very many nursing schools in Colorado and even fewer of them take students who already have a BA in another area. Actually the three left are Univ of CO, Regis and DSN. For me Regis just has an accelerated option which is not what I want. Univ of CO is probably not the best choice for me at this present time. I have heard the classes are large because they only have one group going through a year and students in the program are extremely competitive. I am competitive but I also need balance with a family and children. After touring the school, seeing the students, etc I feel more comfortable about DSN. I am going in for my enrollment stuff the 21st of October and am really looking forward to meeting with other people in my cohort and who are at DSN. I am still surviving on-line Micro and now am stressing about it less. I am going forward with going to DSN starting in January 2014
oh yeah one other thing that made me say DSN is ok. 78% is the passing mark to pass a class. If you don't pass one class, you have the option of doing some type of retake option while staying in your cohort. If you fail another class, you are out of the program. This made me feel really good because there are vocational schools where you can go year after year and not pass any classes while racking up a great student debt. That made me feel DSN is honest... For me learning that was a real good point... They aren't going to mess around with you if you can't make it as a nurse and that is good
