I am in my last semester of nursing and just began precepting. What are some ways that you have incorporated delegation into your precepting without seeming offensive or bossy to CNA's or LPN's who have been at the facility for some time.

Building a decent rapport with all of youre supporting cast is always a good idea. Always be respectful and at the beginning try not to ove-delegate. If you show them that you appreciate what they do, they'll more than likely bend over backwards for you in time.

At the end of each shift, thank the CNA's you worked with. Let them know that you value and appreciate their work with a simple "Thanks for all your help today." It goes a long way towards a good working relationship.
