Hello fellow RN's..
I was curious- I'm a new grad and I saw a posting for a Medical Spa Nurse and it says that a California Registered Nursing License is required- nothing more, nothing less. Do you know if a regular RN/BSN can apply for this job or do you think it's implied that they have their esthetician nursing license?
I would really love to apply for this job, but I'm just not sure if I'm even qualified. It says experience preferred, but not required, but I thought I'd give it a shot. The duties say "consult, manage and treat laser treatments" but it's doesn't actually say GIVE laser treatments..so I'm thinking this position is for more of an "post-op/out-patient" nurse, rather than the one that gives the injections or treatments.
Opinions? Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

As I understand these positions, you would indeed be delivering treatments. I guess you can only know the duties by applying for the position.
One thing I have heard is that these are traditionally low-paying positions and are somewhat based on commission. For instance, you attempt to build a steady clientele by encouraging repeat visits on which you earn a percentage of the fee paid.
Just something to ask about if you decide to pursue the position.

also, check the california BON to see what RN's can and can't do - in some states they can administer botox, but not all ... you can research that on the dept of health website.
