Ok. So the area I live in has one community college where they have an ADN program and one technical school where they offer an LPN program. I definitely want to get into the ADN program because my goal is to have my BSN one day. Would you apply to both and just get your LPN if I didn't get accepted into the ADN program... instead of waiting 6 months and re-applying for ADN program? I just don't know if I should wait for the ADN program because I think it will be harder to get into.. or should I get the LPN out of the way and just go back to school when I'm done with that. I have to apply in January for both..I will still be working on my last pre-reqs for the ADN program that spring, so I'm thinking my chances of getting in that Fall is slim. I'm in the Panama City area of FL if that matters. What do you other nursing students do if you are done with your pre-reqs and waiting for nursing school??

My first thought in going to nursing school, was to go the LDN-ADN-BSN route until I realized that ultimately it would take me 5-6 years to get through it all that way, as opposed to 4 years just doing BSN from the very beginning. I had the support to do it that way, so it just made sense. I'll be graduating in May.

There are NO BSN programs anywhere near me. =( I can either wait for the ADN program to accept me or go get my LPN while I'm waiting.

Boogers :( Is the ADN at least accelerated if you already have the LPN?
