dealing with anxiety of nursing clinicals

Published

even though I prepare, and I enjoy speaking with patients.. I am at ease when relating to them, taking their vitals and physical exam...etc etc..

I feel as though when the teacher is there, my anxiety triples.. Because it feels like they expect us to fail, and do not teach us how to succeed. Maybe it's because I had an evil instructor for my last clinical, who failed me.

But I do not want that anxiety to define me again! Any suggestions?

just keep in mind that if you are having issues now with both a RN and teacher to help you it only gets more intense once its all on you. I will say being nervous is not a bad thing. it is actually your natural way of increasing your bodies ability to perform by increasing your senses. so channel that power and use it to your advantage. Dont be affraid to ask your teachers and nurse questons also. the people who scare me the most are the once who never ask for help.
