couldn't possibly begin to tell you. every nursing diagnosis has a list of symptoms. your patient has to have one or more of those symptoms in order for you to use that diagnosis. so, the real question here is what are this child's symptoms? that is what determines what nursing diagnoses he/she will have.

read these threads on how to write a care plan and determine nursing diagnoses:

3 care plans, or 3 nursing diagnoses?

then what you have to do is look up information on ddh (developmental dysplasia of the hip): signs and symptoms, how the doctors diagnose it, the pathophysiology and the medical treatment. pathophysiology can probably be found in an article on emedicine's website. if you still have problems finding the pathophysiology, i'll check my references here at home. this is all part of step #1 of the nursing process (assessment). when you are doing case studies like this, the signs and symptoms of the disease or condition become your list of symptoms that you will use to choose your nursing diagnoses. please read the information i posted to the threads i listed above and follow the steps of the nursing process in sequence. your assessment is probably the most important beginning step of writing a care plan. your care plan rises or falls based upon the assessment information you collect. the nursing diagnoses, goals and nursing interventions are all based upon the symptoms the patient is having. we treat and attend to the patient's symptoms, or responses to their disease conditions just as the doctors do, only we look at them with a bit of a different perspective. the nursing diagnoses are only a small part of a care plan. much more important is knowing what the patient's symptoms and responses to their disease condition is. if you don't know that information, then you have no idea of what to do to help them.

this thread has all kinds of websites where you can search for medical disease information:
