DCN Students: Did you have trouble transferring Anatomy and Physiology?

I'm sorry to be hogging the board with yet another DCN question. I have already taken Physiology with a lab. My next to take is Human Anatomy. I wanted to take it online at a different school than my Physiology. This is just like taking A&PI and II except in Physiology we talk about the how and why and in Anatomy you talk about what and where. So it's not combined as much as A&PI & II. I'm desperately hoping that DCN will go ahead and allow it because I really can't imagine having to take over that class again. I worked my tail off to get my A and I REALLY REALLY don't want to have to do that again. PLUS, I would be another semester behind where I want to be due to that. UGH! So has anyone had their classes separately like that and taken them in different schools and DCN accepted them? Thanks for any advice. I have a call and e-mail into them, but haven't heard back yet.

Hi Melissa,

I do believe that DCN does have some requirements for A&P. I think I remember reading something about that A&PI and II need to be taken at the same institution. Maybe if you send them a link to the syllabii for those classes that will help them to see that there was indeed continuity in the course sequence.

Hope this helps and good luck! :)

Melissa,

Mona is correct...you must take A & P I & II at the same school for it to be transferable to DCN.

When I went up to DCN they told me that they would not accept my A and P even though it was taken at the same institution. Are they just bullying me around or what?

I know that it HAS to be four hours with a lab at least. They will not accept 3hours A&P even if it had a lab and even if the class time was longer than 3 hours. At least that's what they told me.

BaconLPN,

I would not say they are bullying you. I have a DCN classmate that had her RMA and that program included A & P, but DCN would not transfer it in. Don't let that get you down, the more fresh your A & P is in your mind the better you will do in the program.

Yes, that is correct. They want a four credit A&P with lab. They also have a time limit. For example, after 10 years you must retake the sciences.

Ouch:eek: ...wouldn't want to go through that again.

Good Luck
