Daytona State LPN Program

Published

Hey! I was wondering if anyone has previously attended (or is currently attending) Daytona State College's LPN program? I am very interested in the program and would like to hear some students prospective! Thank you!!!

Hi! I attended DSC's (Previoulsy DBCC) part time LPN program from 2005-2007. It was the best ever! Lecture was very thorough and clinicals were very detailed. The faculty and staff had compassion for teaching nursing and making sure everyone understood what was being taught. My class was the first in years to have a 100% passing rate and I believe that all of us also passed the NCLEX-PN on the first time as well! I hope this helps you. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me. Hope you have a great day!

Thank you for the information, thats great to hear! I will most likely PM you soon, I'm sure I will have some more questions! Thanks again!

I'm currently attending the night class in Deland and LOVE it. It is ALOT of work. 50+ hours a week of clinicals, lab and bookwork. Our instructor has a super pass rate for the state boards, and that is priceless.

Class hours are Tues 4-9pm, Wed & Thurs. 2:30 to 11pm. Discussions (lecture) is all done online. I like it so much better than committing to 8-5 Mon through Thurs. With kids, I'd never be able to adhere to the strict attendance policy due to their frequent illnesses!

When I was told it would wreck your life and your house would be a mess for a year, I thought I understood. OMG, it's so true!!! I have to study hours a day and have to really let things go around here just to get it all done. Then I race around and play "mom" when they get home from school. I'm only home on Monday and Fridays (and the weekend is family time) so it's VERY hectic!!!

Let me know what other info you're looking for!

I was accepted into this falls lpn class. I wish I'd have done the night class in Deland. It was all last minute. I've been trying to get into the RN program for awhile now, then sitting in the advisors office we switched my app to PN. Thank goodness, it's better than being declined from the RN program again! Anyway, I have a 22 month old and a 2 month old and I am scared to death of starting the program. Does anyone know what the daytime schedule will be in Daytona? I guess I'll find out Fri during orientation.
