Add gradually and make sure to do at least 3 practice tests that contains all 265 questions. Goal is to cover at least 4,000 - 5,000 questions before your exam. Some nurses have done 10,000. Just try to develop a strategy for your answers don't memorize them!!!

8. Nursing skills, clinical procedures overview - 1 per day.

9. Keep study log everyday and make some corrections on your way. If you can do it even 1 chapter per day - record that!!! It will show your accomplishments and not failures.

10. Take one day to rest and have fun activities for yourself. Praise yourself for hard work! It will be paid off on your exam!!!

Dear "begosh"!

I do have that book too, I like to have her as a backup resource, if I stumble in some areas, but I found her questions very easy... not like on actual exam. Chapter 42 - you are a head of me, looking forward for our challenge! If you have questions or just can't find something, let me know.

It is really doesn't matter what book to use as long as we have simple outline to cover for our exam.

Best wishes on your studies!!!

Thank you guys for sharing this is really helpful

I don't think I'm ahead of you. I took the online pre-diagnostic test and based on my results, a study plan generated. It started with cardio, cardio meds, and so on. I then created an Excel spreadsheet so I can visually plan my studies based on the number of days left prior to exam date.

Endocrine is definitely kicking my behind :(

Saunders has assessment test - I scored 60%. Did you use pre-diagnostic test with Hogan's CD?

What are your weak points in Endocrine system?

I'm trying to understand and not to memorize content, if I have some problems I go back to Pathophysiology...

My house is covered with sticky notes. I spread all materials that I planned for a day for 15-20 minutes increments. I don't study for hours straight because it is not effective! Later on you will be able to recall these tons of information from long term memory.

Hogan 2nd Edtion did not come with a CD. It did provide an access code for http://www.mynursingreview.com which is good for 1 year from activation. This is where I took diagnostics (prior to reading the book) and scored 61%.

My weak point is definitely patho. I graduated BSN eons of years ago. :shy: Worked with stocks, bonds, mutual funds for the last 15 years. So definitely have to retrain my brain.
