There is a three day phlebotomy training course coming up in my area. This is the website:

I wonder, do you think I can get a job as a phlebotomist after this? I will be starting nursing school in July and was considering taking Phlebotomy at another community college in the fall, but the coursework would be much longer. What do you think of this program?

Thanks!

wow, i plan on going to my phleb course in a couple weeks and it will cost me $500, but i will get 6 WEEKS! of training. idk if 3 days is enough to get comfortable, unless you plan on "getting comfortable" with REAL PTs! and they may not appreciate that much. i wouldnt feel comfortable doing it. but thats just me.

This type of requirement is so obvious and the single reason behind this fact is the continuously increasing in the demand of phlebotomist in health care industry or various forensic agencies. I too persuing my phlebotomy training which is 6 weeks course and i would spend more than $400.

if you want to get a job as a phlebotomist, you will need to take a phlebotomy theory class as well as a clinical. in the clinical you will have to do a certain amount of successful sticks during the course of the clinical (these successful sticks will be documented as proof you have done them). then when you go to apply to a lab to work, they will require the proof you have done the required successful sticks.

so you are not going to be able to take a 2 or 3 day course and then go work at a lab as a phlebotomist. phlebotomy pay is really low anyway. i'm not sure why one would want to go from rn or lpn to phlebotomist.
