I've applied for their LPN program for fall 2013 and here's what I know about it. It is a hybrid program, with bookwork/theory offered online and labs/clinicals offered nights and weekends. Testing/lab is held on Thursdays from 4-10 pm, and clinicals are held on Saturdays or Sundays. Labs meet on the Davie county campus, which I understand is about a 30 minute drive from the main campus.
There are only 20 students admitted per selection cycle, and admission is weighted pretty heavily on the results of the TEAS exam. You can earn additional points toward admission for completion of A & P (depending upon your grade).
I was concerned at first about whether or not an online program would be as thorough as face-to-face class meetings, but I've checked the BON website and the program has a 100% pass rate on the NCLEX for the last three years. So they must be doing something right.
Their application deadline is January 31, which includes completion of the TEAS, so if you're interested in attending next year you'll need to work fast.
Good Luck.
Thanks. I have completed all of the steps except for the TEAS with them....which I take tomorrow and am VERY nervous about...lol I almost wonder if I would have a better shot of getting into the RN program (i have taken all but one pre-req) instead of the LPN since they only allow 20 students in. Do you know if the LPN is very competitive? I LOVE the idea of being in a hybrid class so I could work some. I think I can teach myself better, because sitting in a classroom for hours makes it hard for me to focus. What did you get on you TEAS test?
I got a low score... a 72 :/ So I highly doubt I'll be accepted

I scored a 68.7 on the teas v. I am so nervous waiting on acceptance/alternate letters! Good luck to you!
Thanks! You too! I ended up applying to the RN and LPN program. Did you apply to both as well?

Hello, I applied to DCCC's RN and LPN program as well. Yesterday I got my alternate letter for RN (#33), but nothing from LPN . Did either of you ever hear anything about either program??
Did you get anything yet from DCCC? They may have made a mistake and forgot to send you a letter. I was alternate #40 for ADN and alternate #7 for LPN so it seems to me like you should have been in or a high alternate.
