Danbury, CT hospital

Anybody worked in Danbury, CT at the Danbury Hospital? Does it run smooth, treats travelers well? The pay is okay but I'm wondering how expensive living there is. I'm finding that the best way to save money is secure your own housing (as long as you have a tax home) and pick something significantly less than your stipend allots. I've been looking at Airbnb and Craigslist but don't always find something reliable, safe or much of a savings from the regular stipend. Anybody have any tips to maximize savings?

Hi, I am headed to Danbury Connecticut to work..How was your stay?

It was great there. This is the perfect time of year for the Northeast, just make sure you get back down South for the winter. The living situation is tricky there, at least last Summer. I ended up staying in a furnished apt in downtown Danbury. It was a studio and cost about $1300 a month. That was the best option besides hotels I could find there. It was called Brookview commons. You'll have to connect electricity and internet in your own name too.

The hospital there is great and modern, at least their brand new ICU. Hope you enjoy it!

Does it slows down in the winter for travellers in the North East I was thinking of staying there throughout the winter?

No as far as I've seen the number of positions don't slow down in the winter in the Northeast. Actually I knew a few nurses up there who lived in Florida through the winters and moved back to Danbury in the Spring, Summer and Fall. So I would assume that they would be needing more nurses in the winter.
