Dallas hospital pay rate

Published

Hi,

I am planning to relocate to Dallas and I have few interviews set up. I am wondering what is the base rate for 3+ years experience BSN RN.

I believe that HCA recruiter in North Dallas TX offered $29.88 base rate.

Is that acceptable for that area or should I negotiate?

Thanks

The pay rate you were offered sounds about right for three years of experience.

Keep in mind that new grad RNs typically start in the $23 to $26/hour range at most local hospital systems, so your offer of slightly less than $30/hour is definitely within normal limits for this area.

Sounds right. My company starts new grads at $24 with the opportunity for a small raise at 6 months and one year as long as performance is good, so $29 with the 3 years experience sounds fair.

Thank you for your comments

Dang, I make $24 as an LVN. I kinda thought it would be a bigger pay grade jump!

June 2010 was my last date of working as an LVN. At the time I'd been earning $27/hr. I received my RN license during that time frame and all my new grad RN job offers were less than or equal to the LVN rate of pay that I'd been earning.
