Hello everyone,

I'm taking my last pre-req this fall and was wondering if I can apply for the program while I'm enrolled. Also, how long is the waitlist? How long do ppl usually wait to get in?

Anyways, here's what I've received in the pre-reqs: micro C, anatomy A, eng A and chemistry C (recommended, but not required). I know, the science grades are not too good, but I didn't know better when i took those classes and slacked off..i regret it so much, but at least I received an A in anatomy last semester and I'm set on receiving an A in physiology to make up for the C in micro. I hope I won't have to wait around too long to get in..anyone who's applied to Cypress or talked to the counsellers there..what do you think my chance is at getting accepted into the program? Does anyone get accepted right away?

thanks!

I came across this post and realized that nobody has answered. I know it's a few months old but here are your answers.

For the program, you get in based on points. There are 25 possible points to be had.

You get 2 points each for having completed Math 20 and Psych. 101 for 4 points.

Then you get 1 point for each of your other G.E. classes completed, combined with your 4 points from Math and Psych for a total now of 10 points.

So you get 10 points for your G.E. classes completed. For your science classes, points are awarded accordingly:

A = 5 points

B = 3 points

C = 1 point

For a total of 15 possible points for your sciences. For a total now of 25 possible points.

To get in the program right away you must have AT LEAST 23 points. I guess anything's possilbe however. They admit 50 students each semester and take 13 students from the wait list and 37 based on points. So if you get on the wait list it can be 2-5 years before you get in unless you find a way to raise your points.
