There is no reaosn for you to write the CGFNS exam, even if you were not being petitioned by your husband. It is not needed in most cases anymore.

To get a license in NY, you are going to have to go thru the CVS process before they will even look at your application.

CVS application can be found on the www.cgfns.org website.

That is all that you need to do immediately, send in the application to them along with their fee and they will obtain all of the required documents for you, NY will only accept them if they are obtained by CGFNS.

When they have completed it is when you can apply to NY, you will only need to submit Form 1 of the application for NY as the CVS will take care of the rest of it. Please be aware that average waiting time to get the CVS completed is about 8 months or so.

Best of luck to you.

Hi..if applying for licensure in New York should I send in the form 1 and pay $135 AND also do the CVS process at the same time...or should I do the CVS process first? thanks! :)

Complete the CVS first, it takes an average of 8 months to get that approved, no sense in submitted to NY now, or doing anything else related with working in NY until then.
