hi all,
I was recently accepted to Curry's accel program starting in January 2014. Was hoping to connect with classmates! I'd love to hear how folks are planning to get to school - I don't have a car at the moment and live in Jamaica Plain. yikes!
I'm psyched and can't wait to start and meet you all!

MikeM!
I'm glad you were able to talk to someone and sort it out!
I wish I could stay at my work part time, but they are just not supportive of that. I'm hoping to work at starbucks with my best friend, haha, but I have a few other ideas, too. :)
where are you coming from? I'm living in Jamaica plain, which isn't too far from Curry. I'm hoping to bike when it's nice, but I'm probably buying my baby sister's car this summer to make the commute a little easier (and the program a little more expensive, haha - a car is responsibility I've been happy to be without until now!)
Happy friday, and have a great weekend!
Lauren
Hi, guys -
Welcome to the thread! So glad to see new "faces" of people we'll be spending the next 1.5 years with.
For those not able to attend the May 23 Financial Aid workshop, here are some numbers:
First Academic Year (Spring 2014 and Summer 2014) tuition: $23K
Second Academic Year (Fall 2014 and Spring 2015) tuition: $20K
We can take up to $12.5K in Stafford loans each academic year. So, the amount NOT covered for the whole program: $18K, and there is an option to pay the tuition monthly.
There's more info on the info sheet I have received from the financial advisor, so please feel free to ask here or PM me if you have any questions.
Pavolga - it wont let me send a PM because I haven't been enough of an active user on the site - oh dear. you can find me on facebook pretty easily - I am the only Lauren Conway-Russell there is, and am searchable. and here is a link to page - facebook.com/conway.russell.l
thanks a million, sorry about that. what the heck!

Conwala- Thanks for replying. I spoke with a finaid person earlier this morning on the phone and he said basically what you said here. He did say that finaid-wise, the program is divided into two halfs: spring/summer 2014, and then fall2014/spring 2015. I forget the exact amounts he said, but I think the price for the first half is around 23,000 and the price for the second half is around 17,000. So the award we have received is only in regards to the spring/summer 2014 portion, and then come fall2014 we will be awarded again. That made me feel better at least - I was under the impression that what I just received is the only amount I will receive throughout the entire program.
I guess we're in the same boat - I'm hoping to stay at my work part-time through the program, and will definitely be taking a private loan as well
