Hey guys. I have seen a lot of information about the VA onboarding process, but all the threads are several years old or longer. I received a tentative offer last week for the Cincinnati VA. I am curious about any recent experience you've had. I may have trouble getting my most recent transcript for my MSN so wondering also if people have run into trouble with that. Also curious if anyone had heard of an offer being rescinded and for what. I have nothing particular I am concerned about but you never know.

Thanks in advance for any information.

Hi, I work for the VA. I started a year ago. after the tentative offer i think i then had to have my credentials verified, a background check, fingerprinting, a physical by one of their physicians, urine drug testing and i also had to fill out like the same lengthy online forms for 3 separate departments that didn't communicate. so after getting my tentative offer in june last year i got my firm offer in early september. my VA is especially slow because HR is understaffed and so is credentialling so everything is backed up. in total it took 3 months for the hiring process for me. I think it varies between VA because of HR and staffing. like for me people in charge kept going on vacations and the process was delayed allot. I think that all of those procedures are standard though. as for the transcripts I had sealed copys in my desk so i was able to send them personally. I have heard that may people have issues in getting them sent. if you have time and means have them sent to you from the school and then get them to the VA yourself.
