Current UIC BSN students!!! Northwestern Clinicals...

Published

HI fellow UIC BSN students!

I just wondered, for those people who had clinicals at Northwestern, how did you get there in the morning? What route do you take to ensure that you get there on time? I need to be there 7am two days a week, and I am coming from the Forest Park Blue Line area. Also, how did you get from clinicals back to UIC campus?

Any info would be helpful!

Hey Sally, I am not going to UIC but I know Chicago fairly well.

If I were you, I would take the blue line to downtown and switch to a northbound red line train and get off at the Chicago stop. Walk east and Northwestern Memorial is off of Michigan Ave. It's near a Chipotle...I forget the street name. One of the great lake ones...Erie maybe? But the closest stop should be Chicago...if not Chicago, then Grand on the red line.

Thanks Jbeau!

I took the bus there (the one by my house goes almost straight there). But Jbeau is correct with taking the train. Northwestern is off of Huron. You have Northwestern for your Fundamentals class right? Get ready to be busy! The floor you'll be on has some really ill patients, but you will get so much experience. Your clinical instructor will most likely be Marcia. She is tough! Don't let her niceness the 1st couple of clinicals fool ya- be prepared to work!

Oh, yeah- we would take the pink line train back to UIC.

Yup, it's for nursing 225 I believe. I'm sosoooo excited!!! Thanks CRNA and Jbeau!! :)
