Current nursing student has questions

Published

Hey all, I graduate in May so I'm starting to think about preparation for NCLEX. We had a rep from HURST Review do an info session at my school this week. I did not go but some of my classmates did and they liked what they heard and plan to do it. Another person at school told me about another review course that was more expensive but she said she heard it was better. My issue- I am BROKE!!!! - I am barely hanging on financially till I'm done with school. I only buy things that are absolutely neccessary. My school has an excellent pass rate so I feel like my education will prepare me enough to take NCLEX. Am I being naive? I know school cannot possibly teach me everything though. I've done very well in nursing school thus far, I've never struggled with exams, score highly on all my exams including ATI exams each semester. I've been using Saunders since Med Surg I and was planning on just using that to study for NCLEX as well the notes that I've saved from All Nurses along with my own class notes.

I don't want to be over confident that I've done so well in nursing school that it means I'll do well on NCLEX. What are your thoughts on these review courses?

I don't even know how I would come up with the money to pay for this. Any recommendations other than what I have planned to do already on my own?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
