Hey Everyone
Moving to Charleston soon (this June). We would like to probably live a little outside the city in Summerville or Mount Pleasant. Can anyone give me a rough estimate of how much to expect housing to be?? We need 3 bedrooms/2 baths, decent sized yard.
P.S. Anyone know how much prn's get at MUSC???
Thanks,

Isle of palms has most over a million. Summerville is very nice and pricey, but it.s clean and looks relatively safe, 299 to 399, North Charleston was initially military only but idf you get beyond the military looking stuff, bars, cashing ches services ets it turns into a nice area touching Summerville
My son lived out on James Island in a nice house near a marsh with an access lake so he could keep a sailboat berthed I think his rent to buy was ~= 1000.
As for jobs I am not up on that Todays Advance journal had comparisons of our laregest cities,.
The newspaper ads in the Post and Courier might help.

Hello There! I live in Charleston and work in Charleston. It is the greatest city on earth. As far as homes go, the average price for a house in Mt. Pleasant is around $300,000. I currently do agency work, which I love, it pays a lot more, than the hospitals and they do 13 week contracts often. I hope this helps.

Becky,
Have you worked for MUSC?? I am trying desperately to get on with their NICU, but their website doesn't list any positions that are open. What agency are you with? I will only have been a nurse for 1 year at the time we're moving, so I'm not sure if I'm really ready yet...but I am interested in this in the future. Please send me an email about what you know about the area hospitals. I'm a Level III NICU nurse. [email protected]
Thank you!

By far, in my humble opinion, West Ashley is the best suburb. It's the best deal in terms of price, safety, location and beautiful houses. So anyway in West Ashley its 15 minutes to downtown charleston and north charleston. mt pleasant, james island and beaches are 20 -30 minutes away. my parents have a 3 bedroom ranch style that's worth $150,000. there are some phenomenal neighborhoods in this area like shadowmoss, but basically anything off Hwy 61 (aka ashley river road) is where you wanna look. the other areas like mt. pleasant and such are almost just as expensive as living downtown. my grandparents and my mom's side all live there, but they're all lawyers...lol...anyway feel free to PM me
