Hi everyone.
I'm a nurse with 4 years experience in varied settings including med/surg, ortho/neuro, oncology, rehab, as well as travel nursing in the US.
I've wanted to make the switch to a maternal/newborn area for quite some time, but never had the opportunity. Low and behold, upon my return from the US, I made a few contacts and within a few months I accepted a part time position in the NICU which has an obs. unit as well as level 2 and 3 babies.
So far, I love it, but still in a bit of shock. I'm reading and learning as much as possible and asking tons of questions!!
I'm wondering if there is anyone else with a similar experience who can share strategies on what helped them settle into this new specialty.
Thanks for your input!! :)

I came from adults and the thing I couldn't get over were the dosages! So small! I still have another nurse check me on things like KCL. If anything, NRP is alot easier than ACLS!
