CSULB Spring 2016 applicants!

U.S.A. California

Everyone who is applying post your overall scores!

i am currently at a 9.48! I think I might take the TEAS again to try and bump up my score.

Hey guys! Reading all of your posts is making me nervous. From what I've read from old threads the interview isn't as hard as we think but still haha. My interview is 11 am, Group A! Let me know if any one of you are in the same one!

Also, just out of curiosity, do you know if they superscore your TEAS? My higher overall score out of the two has a lower math score so I was just wondering if they would have taken my higher overall score and my higher Math score even though they're from two different test dates? My score is 9.81 so I just thought I could've bumped that up if they superscored like some universities do with their SATs lol. Probably not but I was just wondering.

Does anyone know if the initial stats that they posted on the website is with the alternates' scores included? And is it true that only CSULB students are on alternate list?

• Rating Average – 9.53 (range 9.87– 9.31

• Statistics for 80 selected students:Average Science GPA – 3.96 (range 3.71– 4.0)Average GE GPA – 3.88 (range 3.44 – 4.0)Average TEAS test score – 87.89% (range 74.7% – 96.70%)Average Math score – 93.79% (range 80% – 100%)

The format of those two bullet points is what is confusing me right now. The rating average/range is not included WITH the statistics for the 80 selected students.

Buuut, from all the reading I've done from previous threads, I have come to the conclusion that the ratings average/range is only for the selected students. Though it may go down after some decline their offers.

For example, I read in last fall's thread that the first alternate had a score of 9.57. The pool range for last fall was 9.92-9.55. This can only mean that the original range ended above 9.57 and once some of the alternates accepted a spot, the range was brought down.

This is just my personal hypothesis and does not account for anyone royally bombing the interview, so good luck to everyone!

pattyb95 I'm also in group A at 11 am :) and I believe they only use one of your teas tests to make your score but they will use the one that gives you the highest rating

I know the interviews are held somewhere in the two nursing buildings, but does anyone know where??

Also good luck to everyone tomorrow!

Thoughts anyone? I feel like I bombed the written section, but may have made up for it during the second part.

I agree! The writing section was easy but we barely had time to read the prompt, think of an answer, and write down some of our thoughts. I felt like I could have done better! The discussion questions were easy; however, I felt like I barely talked!

Yeah I think I did bad on the written part :( I think for the group discussion my whole group did well!

I didn't even finish the writing part haha. I felt bad until my group said none of them finished either, or at least most of us didn't. I'm so glad it was such a comfortable environment though.

Did any of your interviewers mention a time frame for when they're going to have results?

She told us that the result will be noticed in 4 to 5 weeks, and the orientation will be held in December.

Hi guys,

I have a feeling that the cutoff doesn't include the alternates since I know a couple people who had lower scores than 9.31but they were invited to the interview...I guess well know for sure once we get the email though! It was nice meeting some of you on wednesday :)

I've been following this thread for a while and was wondering if anyone else has gotten rejection letters?

I got an e-mail on September 14th stating that my application to the SON had been received. I completed my CSULB application and supplemental application before the deadlines as well.

Since then I have not heard anything from CSULB or the SON regarding my status or application. I'm assuming I will be denied because the cutoff was 9.31 and my score was around 9.1 and I did not get an e-mail for an interview. I'm just wondering now because someone else on this thread said that they had received a denial letter at the end of September and I haven't heard anything.
